Asian indices closed mixed, while European indices are trading lower. US index futures traded higher, indicating a positive start to the trading session. Brent climbed past $110 as fears of a prolonged US-Iran conflict intensified, while the UAE’s surprise exit from OPEC and OPEC+ added to concerns of a shifting Middle East energy landscape. Analysts say the move could eventually help the UAE expand its global market share once geopolitical tensions ease.
